Bright Agyei Kyidom, also known as King Solar in the media and broadcasting industry, is the new host of the drive-time show on OkeFM Fm 106.5Mhz.
Formerly a presenter on Aben FM 103.3's Showbiz Review, he will now be hosting the late afternoon drive show on Okese FM 106.5mhz. The Okese Drive Time show airs from 1 pm to 4 pm, Monday to Friday, transmitting from Ejisu Municipal.
King Solar began as a blogger after completing the Rights Media Institute in Kumasi. In 2015, Kyidom hosted "Thank God Is Friday" and the Nifty Show on Wednesdays respectively on Kumasi Online Radio. As the Entertainment Edge (Showbiz Review program) reporter and producer hosted by Tony Best on Solid FM (now Akoma FM), he became the "titbits" presenter.
Later, in 2016-17, he began producing the Bamaso Nkomo entertainment show hosted by DJ Markus on Jem FM, now on Abusua FM. With this experience, he joined the late Big Shaker Attacker on Metro FM 94.1 (now Ezra FM), continuing as the "titbits" presenter when Big Shark moved to Okese FM 106.5mhz.
Kyidom Bright later had the opportunity to host his first radio show on Jem FM when DJ Markus was absent, interviewing artists like Amerado and Sister Afia.
From July 2021 to August 2023, King Solar joined Aben FM 103.3fm as the host of the Showbiz Review under the management of Joy Dadi. During this time, he conducted interviews with numerous celebrities and public figures.
As a member of the Arts and Tourism Writers Association (ATWAG), Kyidom has published write-ups on his conducted interviews. He has also co-hosted several events like Oseikrom Fiesta, High Skuul Fiesta, pool party events, weddings, and outdoor events.
Kyidom, a student of the English Language from The Akenten Appiah-Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development (AAMUSTED), is well-regarded for his personality, music selection, and ability to engage listeners. He brings an urban and commercial radio feel to his shows.
King Solar's commitment to educating people through radio, and promoting Ghanaian tourism and arts, along with his sense of humour and professionalism in emceeing shows, has made him a notable figure in the Ghanaian broadcasting industry, particularly in Kumasi.
