Kyenkwa Foundation and Jukwa Health Centre Promote Community Health at Jukwa Acheampong Market



The Kyenkwa Foundation, in partnership with the Jukwa Health Centre, successfully organized a free community health screening and education outreach at Jukwa Acheampong Market in the Hemang Lower Denkyira District of the Central Region.The initiative aimed at promoting preventive healthcare and increasing public awareness on reproductive health, hygiene, and wellness.

The outreach brought together 297 participants, including men, women, and children, who benefited from a wide range of free medical services such as:

  • Blood pressure and blood sugar testing
  • Malaria screening
  • BMI and nutritional assessment
  • Reproductive health counseling
  • HIV and STI education
  • Hepatitis B Screening and education 

Volunteers and health professionals worked tirelessly to ensure that every participant received screening and relevant health information materials.

Founder’s Remarks

Speaking during the event, Mr. Nana Agyeman Kwadwo Aborah, Founder and Executive Director of Kyenkwa Foundation, who is also a Public Health Officer emphasized that empowering communities through health and education remains central to the Foundation’s mission.

 “Health is the foundation of empowerment. When people are healthy, they can dream, learn, and build productive lives. This initiative reflects our commitment to bringing healthcare and education closer to the people,”

He expressed appreciation to the Jukwa Health Centre team for their collaboration, as well as to community leaders and health professionals who made the program a success.


Public Health Perspective:

The District Public Health Nurse, Madam Betty Hayford, of the Hemang Lower Denkyira District Health Directorate, commended the Foundation for its commitment to community service.

 “Partnerships like this are vital for promoting community health. Many people avoid hospitals due to cost or distance, so outreach programs like this help detect conditions early and save lives. We look forward to more collaborations with Kyenkwa Foundation,”

She encouraged residents to maintain healthy lifestyles and seek medical care regularly.


Community Support and Attendance:

The event received strong support from local stakeholders, including the Chief Imam of Jukwa, the Assembly Woman, the Health Promotion Officer, and the Physician Assistant from the Jukwa Health Centre.

Their presence reinforced the collaborative spirit between community leaders, health professionals, and development partners.

Residents expressed gratitude for the initiative, noting that such programs provide accessible healthcare and essential education, especially for market women and youth.

The Jukwa Health Screening was a success, positively impacting hundreds of residents and deepening Kyenkwa Foundation’s engagement with the community.
